FINAL PROJECT: RESEARCH GUIDES

A. OVERVIEW:

The topic I choose to write about is becoming a nurse. Nursing jobs are in demand and its job security. Nurses have the opportunity to make a difference in people's lifes, to care and connect every day. Nurses can work anywhere they prefer. Advances in health care technology, the aging of the population, and rapid social change have increased the need for nurses in traditional specialties such as public health nursing. There are new demands in occupational health, nurse-midwifery, psychiatric nursing, forensic nursing, women's health care, and alcohol and drug abuse treatment. As the health care system undergoes restructuring, new opportunities are emerging in case management, home health nursing, and primary care. In addition, more and more nurses are involved in research, consulting, and private practice. Some nurses practice in specialty areas which are hospital based; others can be practiced in patients' homes, clinics, universities, offices, long-term care facilities, industries, and community agencies.

It gives you the overviewe of being a nurse, how much it mean to become a nurse, and different degrees to become a nurse. Also, it talks about the different working issues as a nurse. On the website, it has a site that takes you to how to apply and take the board test to become a nurse.
2.http://www.teachrns.org/index.html. This website a overview of a nurse positions if you are deciding to become a nurse. Theres different types of program thats offer in Virgina. It also talks about how to become a nurse over in Virgina; and how long it will take in school to become a nurse.

Reflection 5

This is not my first online course that I have taken. I feel like there was less student interaction because not as much student actually use the chat to communicate with each other. I prefer face-to-face classes because its less complicated. I believe traditional class is much easier to learn because we have the instructor in the classroom, and he/she can explain to us in detail and answer any questions we have. If there was a face-to-face class for Library 3, I would prefer coming instead of taking online because it would been much easier for me. But on the other hand, I would take the class online because of my work schdule.

I believe that information competency mean that information that are break down into every details possible. I believe information competency is important to me because it gives me a more understanding about information that are available to me. When I know the information in detail, I can applied my knowledge easily. I believe since I have taken this course, I am an information competency student. After this course is over, I can still use my knowledge of information competency to complete research paper.

Reflection 2

For the past couple of weeks, my opinions about library changes a little. Theres more information that's given to me in my reading assignements. It break it down for me to understand more about libraries and other strategies. Doing the assignment lets me apply my knowledge from what I have learn. I believe even with internet access, we should still have libraries around. I believe so because some people prefer having an actual book to read from. Internet helps me search for information faster and easier. But when it comes to reading a book, i prefer going to the library, checking out the book and read it.

Reflection 3

I really thought that I would just learn basic ways to reseach that I already know how. But actually, I learn so much more since I been taking this course. It gives me lots of different resource to use to make my reseach much easier and give me much more information that I can use to put in my research paper. For example, its really interesting to find out about the statistics educational attainment. I would neva knew about this website. Its so interesting that the males make more than female. And the difference between having a highschool dipolma and having a bachlor degreee.

The library had everything that is need for all type of activity for school and for personnel need.
I like the fact that the library had family learning centers, homework help, and games for kids.
The family learning centers has computer based learning opportunites, enrich student study skills, develop parent participation and support, homework help.

I like that the Library is very nice and peaceful to be at. I love to be there all day to relax and get away from my busy life. I would love to read the romance books. I love to read romance books. Its really interesting to me.

REFLECTION 1

So far, I believe I am learning new ways to reserach. This will come in handy in the future when I need to write an essay or report. I have different techniques to use for references. So far, I like this class because it fit my busy schdule. The part I dislike is sometime I get a little lost and confuse.
